Introduction We offer various data recovery services including the recovery of data from damaged or corrupt databases, the recovery of passwords and the unlocking of program source code. Please note that for these services we need a signed statement from you confirming that you are the owner of the item in question before we will release any unlocked systems. If we are unable to effect a recovery then will be no charge. |
| Data Data held in both Access/JET database (ie .mdb and .mde files) and in SQL Server databases can be recovered. For standard recovery there is a fixed fee of £250 + VAT per database. If we can't recover your data then there is no charge (no fix, no fee). Some databases require more extensive manual intervention and in such cases a higher fee is charge. If this is the case you will be advised beforehand and again, if we can't recover your data then you won't be charged. |
| Passwords Both database passwords and Access security passwords can be recovered. In order to recover user/ecurity passwords a copy of the relevant workgroup file (eg system.mdw) is required. For password recovery the fixed fee is £150 + VAT. If we can't recover your passwords then again there is no charge (no fix, no fee). |
| Source Code Please note that source code can only be recovered from .mdb files. Source code can not be recovered from Access .mde files or from Visual Basic (VB) .exe files (as these do not contain the source code in the first place). Source code recovery charges will vary depending upon the system involved. Again, no fix, no fee. |
| What To Do
Next... If you would like us to undertake a recovery then please contact us and tell us the details. We obviously will need a copy of the application including any associated files such as .mdw security files. If unsure about these we can discuss this further with you. We will also need you to sign a statement saying that you own, or have the relevant rights to, the software in question. If the application will compress (zip) to less than 5 Mb then it can be sent by e-mail. If it is more than this then we would appreciate it being copied to CD and posted to us.
